Parent and Community Involvement
Franklin School welcomes parents and community members into the classrooms to help with a variety of activities, such as:
- craft and club activities
- language activities, eg listening to children read
- excursions and camps
- acting as resource people, eg providing information about their occupations or areas of expertise or providing information about their homeland.
The ACT Education Directorate policy requires all parents/carers who volunteer in classrooms, at sporting events, on excursions are required to complete a Volunteer's Form and a Medical Form, both are available from the front office. Volunteers must sign in each time they volunteer.
All volunteers are encouraged to obtain a Working With Vulnerable People accreditation if they are going to volunteer at school.
